The Anubis, a warrior and keeper of Osiris' body, and later to become the Egyptian keeper of the dead, appointed just and truthful guards, in his stead, gods of right and truth, being Thoth and Astes. When Seth became angrier and took Osiris' body to strew around the countryside, Anubis helped Isis look for it. He is known in Egypt as lenpw (phonetically, inepu) Before Osiris he was known as the lord of the dead. After his death, anubis has been referred to as his son. this 91/2 " (H) statue was expressly designed for the Summit Egyptian Collection, hand painted, detailed, cold cast resin.
